how many bucks like those get killed in modern times?

i like the clean 4x4s w no trash.
There are actually a number of them shot each year, not as many as years past since most of the hunts don't run during the rut and when the bucks are down out of the hills.

Here is a picture of some bucks from Utah that live on a CWMU that if you have enough money you can hunt them

Then here are a couple from a taxidermy shop down in Tucson, Arizona that were shot in the past year or so. I have no idea of where they were shot.

If a person is real lucky he can draw a premium entry deer tag in Utah for the Henry Mountains and have a good chance at bucks such as those in the pictures.

Thanks, Jim. Guess I fell prey to the "there are no big ones left" gibberish that's so prevalent these days.

Those big wide frames are incredible.

Actually, I remember seeing a photo in 2019 from a biologist in CO showing me a huge buck taken off private land in the area I hunted. Was checking in my buck and he just started showing me a couple larger bucks that folks had shot. Forgot about that.

Years ago most of the real large bucks were shot during late seasons that ran into December. There was a service station in Cove Fort Utah where I-70 and I-15 now meet, in that station they had some of the largest bucks that I have ever seen, they all were shot legally in December. Same with a station in Loa, Utah which had a few large bucks that were shot once the deer came down to the hay fields.

Today a person can still find those kind of deer but he is going to have to work for them.

Yea it is getting more rare to see real big bucks coming off public land. Most you see are either guided or off private. With that said there will always be a few that make it on public. These 2 pics were from early December this year and both bucks are public land bucks or they are out there. I will post some of my observations when I get more time. Now the true 250” types are getting to be a unicorn on public.

If ya are wondering I put that typical at close to 30” inside and pry 35” to the kicker.
