good post !Natural immunity is very good. Studies show SARS (original) and MERS have AB years later. Studies show good AB decades after the 1918 flu pandemic. Point is government is pushing an agenda. Easier to give the same message to all vs. make an algorithm.
COVID-19 real: yes.
80% have minimal or no symptoms.
15-20% have moderate disease.
5% have severe disease of which 1% will die from sepsis or multisystem failure.
Had COVID-19 or fully vaccinated: don't need a mask IMO. Even if these individuals get COVID-19 their disease is extremely mild and risk of hospitalization is near zero.
COVID-19 is not a special virus. Coronoviruses have been around our entire lives. This virus doesn't trick the immune system nor our immune response. You will have AB and most likely they will be long-term. See comments above on SARS and MERS and Influenza (1918).
The CDC unfortunately threw out this 3 month protection making the masses think they will get COVID-19 again after 3 months because AB will drop off. Immune system suddenly doesn't work? Ridiculous. This of course is not true. The only scenario which would invalidate natural or artificial immunity is a mutation that the body doesn't recognize. However, this is very unlikely.
For all of you that need to know I have been practicing medicine for 21 years and have been on the frontlines. PA-C, MSPA. Only stated b/c last time I posted something everyone seemed interested in my credentials.
I have no issue with wearing masks after vaccination IF one is showing symptoms OR IF one chooses to do so.
I balk when they are mandated . that IMHO is ridiculous nonsense and a massive assault on individual rights.
dealing with covid should be no different then how we deal with hundreds of other diseases .
wash your hands, try not to hack and sneeze on those around you , if you believe you might be infected - SELF ISOLATE.
if your showing symptoms and MUST go out in public wear a mask. wear it always if you so desire .
my biggest problem with the vaccines is not wether they work or even wether they are safe in the short term .
I question wether they are ultimately going to be a hindrance to the ability of humans to naturally make their own immunities.
most would agree that vaccines have helped the human race in the short term but the simple truth is we still have no idea what the repercussions will be to our race in the long term.
500 years from now will the human race be nothing but weaklings susceptible to every bug out there without being vacced??
sure seems to be trending that way.
I am not anti modern medicine . it is simply my opinion that it is not wise to put such in your body unless it is absolutely necessary.
I doubt there are many in this nation who have taken less medicine in their lives then I have and I am seldom sick. never in my life have I had to take antibiotics for anything. I do not live a particularly healthy lifestyle . I eat whatever I want , whenever I want it. I only exercise through working, no gyms , no walks/runs. I no longer drink or smoke but I did. only quit because I see it as a crutch I don't need .
on the other hand ,I have family members (one of which is my twin brother ) who are fanatic about the way they eat .they go to the gyms they go on walks and jogs they don't and never did drink or smoke or partake in rec drugs. they rush to the emergency room for every little sniffle , they take all the vaccines the doctors offer up .steroids for every ache . they take antibiotics for something or other every year or so. and they are always sick with this or that. they are susceptible to pneumonia, bronchitis , blood clots , strokes , cancer ............ they get the flu shot each year and get the flu each year.
I have never had a flu shot and haven't had the flu in 25 years.
in my mind there must be some correlation. in my mind running to the doc for every issue is what creates a sickly person.
I am 54 with seldom a sick day in my life so far.
sure that will probably soon change but getting sick and dying is what old people do best!
