I just got back from getting my first shot. The national guard is doing the coordination at our regional convention center. I must say the experience was excellent. I was kinda expecting a shitshow. It was extremely well organized. Appointment was at 1:10pm and was out the door by 1:20.

my mother who is 86 got her 2nd shot last week and had no reactions to it .she had already recovered from covid so the shot probably wasn't really necessary but it's a mute point now.

Arm was a little sore for about 24 hours. Happy to report I haven't heard from Bill Gates and haven't lost or added any appendages.

Got mine a while back.

Arm was sore for a day same for the wife.

Kids are in school, my parents - their grandparents are picking them up, and things at least in this small town are pretty much getting back to normal.

There is still a virus? My small community has been problem free for a couple months now and literally everything is back to normal. All mask mandates are gone, all attendance at events are wide open, etc...

Sure hope the rest of you guys end up in the same position soon.

I was talking to some friends the other day who live in a different state than I do and we came to this conclusion.

If you live in a liberal controlled state then odds are you are still under some pretty heavy restrictions.

If you live in a conservative controlled state then it is opening up a lot faster with very few restrictions.

Just so that you know, they live in a conservative state and I live in a liberal state so we could compare the differences.

And the Covid statistics between those states are almost the same typically.

Our county gives everyone a weekly update on the vaccinations. Our county has around 25,000 residents and over 12,000 have been vaccinated so far. Today there is an all day driveup clinic and they will vaccinate any adult for free until the supply runs out.

When I went in for my first vaccination a week ago last Saturday it looked like confused chaos.

I had a 11:20 am appointment and when I got to the school where they were giving the vaccinations there was no where to park so I took a half mile hike. Then once I got to the line I found that the line was a couple hundred yards long. I then found out that those with my appointment time should be at the front of the line so I moved up which caused problems with those already in line with appointments later than mine was. It would of been so simple if they would of just had someone outside letting people know or even a sigh saying how to line up.
I understood the parking problem with all that was there but getting into the building was something else. Once inside everything was fairly organized and went fairly smoothly. Now for 3 more weeks and I get to do it all over again.

One interesting thing is that there was a JJ vaccine this last Friday and Saturday that I could of gotten into if I hadn't already had my first Moderna vaccine in my arm already

I think everyone should go get all three vaccines . if a littles good mo is betta!

virus should be disapating soon.biden got his 2 trillion transfer of wealth . san fran and NYC got their money to prop of their failing economies , due to dumbass policies, for another year.
I expect he will be moving on to gun control, green energy and sexual fruitcakes next.

who would have thought that covid would provide so many more dem wishlists then global warming ever could .this farce is the gift that just keeps on giving.lol.

it disgusts me how gullible the people of the world have become!

I only know one person who supposedly died of the 19. I say supposedly because all deaths in nursing homes last year were blamed on covid. don't believe for a second that the majority of those deaths were actually covid and not just due to being old as f@$#!

but I could be wrong. docta fauci said it is so and he is an " honorable" man so it must be so. ;) :ROFLMAO:

We had a person from down in CC's neck of the woods that passed away and they blamed it on covid but if I remember right he rode a motorcycle into something or something along those lines, I can't remember just what. They had a big thing on TV about it.

I have two good friends who were in the ICU for a couple of weeks each on respirators and they are still not themselves yet as far as being able to get out and do things. I also have a few family members who tested positive but they just told them to stay home.

I think that the big thing with it was that they had no drugs to fight it once you got it. If you came down with the flue you can go to the local drugstore and pick up some OTC medications that will help you out. With this covid thing you were stuck with going to the hospital and having a tube shoved up your nose and being hooked up to a machine.

Now just the other day I heard about some kind of drug that is suppose to knock it down, so who knows? By next year you might be able to just pop a few pills, go to bed for a day or so and come back strong.

As in most (if not all) cases of new infections/diseases, much is learned over time as to what works and what doesn't. There are some anti-viral treatments as well as therapeutics that have been shown to be effective. Far fewer people are put on ventilators now than initially due to these advances.
CC and JimP are both in Colorado, so it isn't necessarily the state that determines how well the vaccines are administered. The state may control the distribution, but the counties and medical facilities handle the vaccinations. Here in NE MN, it was frustrating at first, but it is fairly straightforward now, and my wife & I are scheduled for the 2nd shot on Friday. The Gov just opened the next "group", so we can expect another surge of frustrated applicants for a while.
