Plus my wife's uncles duramax caught on fire and burned to the ground....Heater core wire shortage is our guess.

Then my dog stepped on a piece of glass and had to go to the doggy hospital at 9:30 at night Saturday and got an overnight trip to the VET...

Curious, why are you using cpvc instead of polyethylene (aka black pipe) or even PEX? And that wife of yours is a keeper for sure. No way in hell would my ex-wife get on the business end of a trencher.

Shes a worker for sure. Hope I never have to fight her...lol

PEX would have cost me 1500$ and most people down here use schedule 40 PVC. I opted for the 1" because it is such a long distance (1100' to the proposed house).
I had some pretty serious bad luck with black pipe over the years running water lines.
There is no "Frost line" down here. The ground may freeze a few inches deep.

I got 125 tons of #4's dropped yesterday. Pictures later today.

I hear you on the black pipe. I've had my issues with it as well. But man, it would be tempting for a 1000' foot run. Hi cube shipping containers run about $2000 here, what do they go for in your neck of the woods?

Thats a 40'X9'X8' delivered for $2200. You wont find one cheaper than that around these parts. I can sell it easily after the fact or as I told my wife I could build a wood drying kiln. You know, because I need one. lol

A storage locker costs 1500 for 9 months....no thanks.

I had $650 for the pressure reducer/pipe/glue/2-frost freeze spickets and renting a ditch witch for 1 day. Not too bad considering some jerkwad offered to do it for me for $5,000.....unreal what people charge these days. If your not afraid to get your hands dirty you can save a pile of money here and there.

Lovely times down in Arizona where you can save on your cooking bills buy just using a flat rock outside.

As long as the pipe is burried there should be no problems with it even in the Arizona heat. The problem comes in when you use PVC as a riser and it is sticking out of the ground and exposed, but then just about anywhere it will start to rot due to UV rays unless it is painted. For a riser you need to go with copper or galvanized pipe but then you create other problems with either.

What JimP said. We do that in all Commercial and Residential building. PVC underground is not affected by sunlight, especially if it has 30" cover per CBC.

most folks around here still use copper or poly pipe to get from the water meter to the house.

1100' of 1" copper....ouch. lol

We are hiring a contractor to build the house.
well i don't think anyone would run copper that far. BIL had a leak in his poly pipe and the plumbing contractor really pushed running copper the length of his driveway, about 80 yards. The estimate was thousands. We ended up just digging it by hand and patching for about $10.
