Just noticed that WY Fish and Game posted some new info to the Hunt Planner feature on their website. They now have unit summaries which I found interesting and they also state a public land percentage for the unit along with some other new info. I found the public land percentage useful as it seems everywhere I look the percentage of public land in a unit is different. I generally try and average a few different sources to get an idea of the public land percentage. Happy planning!

Thats pretty kewl stuff-thanks for the heads up.

About a month ago, I saw a similar setup for their elk units in the planner, but then they seemed to switch it back to the usual layout. Maybe they were messing around and testing this new format, and ultimately decided to roll it out 1st with the antelope part of the hunt planner?

I checked an antelope unit with well known access issues, that I am familiar with, and their info was not only spot on, but cut to the chase on the access challenges. Definitely a lot more info there than just the * label.

Time will tell if this info has any impact on draw odds. [emoji38]

Wonder if it will be easier to draw an area XX buck tag?

Unfortunately there is no "secret information" anymore. There are no magic areas or hidden gems... the amount of information available on the web lays all the chips on the table.

Looks like deer info is up. The age class breakdown is an interesting feature.
The info is messed up. I looked at a unit in southwest Wyoming that's nearly all public land but the hunt area info says access is difficult and that access to public land is "poor" and approximate percentage of public land in a 25%. All wrong. Then it refers you to a Job Completion Report for the Black Hills. Which for those who don't know, is in the NE corner of Wyoming, not the SW.

It seems like there are a lot of bugs to work out. When I click on a unit on the map, it's opening adjacent units information instead.

I just tried it on a dozen different units on their interactive map for antelope and everything worked with no problems.

You should of said that your problem was with deer since we are talking about antelope in this thread.

What unit number are you having problems with?
