meathunter That first pic is awesome I could use a little of that here in Az. +100'F today and thru Oct/Nov.
dirtclod, yuk, too warm for me. In the 50s up there, still snow blocking some access roads. Grew up in AZ, and know what you mean. :)

Hopefully, will have a bear pic to post soon.

went out this morning and filled my doe goat tag.
pretty easy hunt .just drove till I saw her about 200 yards out. got out of truck, set up my new swagger bi-pod ,which I mounted on my win .270.
crackpop and it were all over by 8:30 AM and back home by ten.

dirtclod Az, It was the two guys in the photo (brother and friend) who got elk. I have photos somewhere but they weren?t anything that would impress anyone ? a five point and a spike. Nonetheless, it was our first trip to southern Idaho, so we thought we did pretty well. It sure is a lot more open than the Panhandle where I used to live and hunt.

I was just packer on the trip and carried around a wolf tag. I have carried around lots of unnotched wolf tags.

I couldn?t find the elk on the ground photos but here is a photo of my brother getting ready to shoot the spike that was near the top of the little ridge across from us.

first trip there and two elk, I am impressed! congrats to all!!!!! I hunted 39 many years before I scored my first, so be proud .

Congrats to your Brother and his friend.And good on you for Bieng guide/packmule.I always carry a Bear tag,and always carry it back home.:cool:

found this elk antler while stalking some cows.
still has a lil velvet on it and broken off right at the base.
I think Jr. got an arse whoopin in the rut.

this bull was killed yesterday, in Idaho by my brother. few busted points ,he was a scrapper.
