I've had the same thoughts from reading past posts the last couple years, just shook my head and laughed at most stuff I read. Curious to see the replies here.

Kind of came out of the blue? TG has been gone a long time- must have been reading some old posts. He rubbed a lot of people the wrong way but I do believe he had good intentions most of the time. He just had really poor communication skills.
Virgil got a three day ban out of this deal. There is no need to come on here and start a thread just to bash a guy, even if the guy has been banned. If I do some digging I bet there are some fights between this guy and TG on other forums. Just brought it over here.

To be honest, I kid a lot sometimes; but I would be dishonest, over many years of lurking before I joined this forum, to say I had not benefited from some of TGs posts going back many, many years.
They weren't all bad.
That being said, I respect the moderators and owners judgement in keeping this a civil environment.

Banning people is the one job that Trent and I hate the most, we have gotten to know many of you over the years we have worked on this thing. Trent moderated it before I worked here and i have been here 5 years now, so make sure you send him a thank you note ha. TG did make useful posts and I know he helped several people with information on units and hunts. I appreciated his willingness to help people, but after a few altercations with other members it was pretty clear we didn't have a choice.
Ike and Guy have tasked Trent and I with making sure that this forum is always the most civil place for western hunters on the internet. We do our best to maintain that and as a result spend a lot of time here. Personally I think that we have accomplished that and hopefully it would be a place that I would be proud to see my children post pics someday.
So with that, I am going to lock this thread down. I won't delete it but just won't add any more posts to it. Then I will bump up the 2018 picture threads!
