If the Game and Fish called you up today and said you are the lucky person who just won a license for any species in the state, good for all areas, what would you choose and why? P.S. I have a week until they need their answer
I would choose a mountain goat tag. Reasons: I believe they are one of the coolest critters roaming the hills, I love the rough country they inhabit, I have been lucky enough to kill most of the other animals in our state, and a tanned long-haired hide from the end of October would be comfy and warm on my bed!
I'd have a real hard time passing up the best bull elk hunting in the state... But, I guess I'd have to take a sheep tag, if I were forced to make the decision.
If I were a resident, it wouldn't be deer elk or antelope.....it would be bison, moose, goat or sheep. Of those four, only you can know what pushes your buttons. I have been a sheep addict forever, but now that I am in my mid fifties I just might lean to a bison or moose tag.
With that said, how could anyone pass on a sheep tag.
I think I've got a good shot at drawing a moose tag soon and a sheep tag within the next 7-10 years, so I'd have to go with bison. It would probably be the only chance I'd ever get, barring a miracle in the Utah draw.
