If im looking at the mapping on the Wyoming g&f site correctly , it does look like there are still quite a few roads that a person can use to get to public land. Yes every piece is not accessable but it seems we wont have problems in Y south of the big horns in the 30 or 33 units.
Those roads down South can get nasty quick so keep that in mind.

I have both the phone and gps chip. Caching the areas on your phone before you leave and having a back up charging source helps a lot. The phone is nice because it gives me more detail where the gps gives me the basics.
I also purchased the full subscription this year to all states, that will allow me to download what I need and also cyber scout away from home. I will carry both with me this year but I'm planning to mainly use my phone.

I have a onx chip I bought in 2014, I was curious how often BLM out in Wyoming changes? Is it every year or they have to be in for many years?? Just wondering if I should get an update? Or if it stays pretty similar?

For Wy specifically I just check yearly online. I haven't seen a change yet worthy to get an update.

I have downloaded onto both my Garmin Explorer 400 t and my Motorola Droid. The Garmin is older, and a real pain to get the maps to load. The Droid is pretty easy, and as long as you store the maps and go "off-line" when you lose coverage, they work very well. And for me the positive was that my Droid had the aerials and my older GPS did not. But like mentioned, cell phones are not weather proof and I'm pretty careful with it. I plan to use both this fall on my mulie hunt. I also just updated my subscription, and have the maps on my laptop and Droid just from the subscription. Pretty slick.
