Got an invite to go down to Victoria, Tx to help eradicate some hogs that had been hitting the corn fields pretty hard. We started around 9:00 and wrapped it up around 3:00 am. We drove around scanning fields out the window and stopped in a few places to call for a few minutes here and there. We got 6 confirmed kills on the first group. Then later in the night took out a single boar that is not in this video. 7 confirmed kills for the night.
Equipment used- 12.5" 6.8 SPC from Eric at Blackstonearms.com. Reap-IR thermal sight from Cliff at ThirdCoastThermal.com recorded with the MDVR from Ultimate night vision.
Attached to the muzzle is the Sig Sauer 762 titanium QD suppressor from Silencershop.com

Just out of curiosity do you guys have any concern for the deer in the background while you are winging bullets at those hogs?

I'm actually glad u mentioned that. This land owner has fields that back up to the city lines. There are fields where the deer can't legally be hunted around there and are super overpopulated (50-100 in a field at a time and we're talkin several fields around town full of deer). He went on a rant for about 30 minutes to me and the guys about how bad they're getting and wanting them gone and jokingly talked about eradicating them like we do the hogs.. but he's lookin into getting a permit for population control or something. Not sure about trapping and reloacating bc that was my first thought. Anyways. He went on this hilarious rant for about half an hour before we started hunting that night about the deer population being way out of control and wanting them gone. So for that reason, I wasn't overly worried about it. On any other property i have permission to hunt, I absolutely wouldn't have taken some of those shots knowing those deer were there. Good eye though and good lookin out.

That seems like a pretty horrible reason to not be worried about killing or wounding something and just wildly pulling the trigger with no regard to other consequences. Frankly, if I am understanding your line of reasoning I am pretty appalled, find that very concerning, and extremely unethical.

just wildly pulling the trigger with no regard to other consequences.
Ya got me.... I sure do love going around wildly pulling the trigger with no regard to other consequences.
At least you aren't being extreme and jumping to conclusions.

Then please further explain your reason for not worrying about hitting a deer or unintended target. I dont believe I am being extreme or jumping to conclusions but the perceived lack of respect or care or ethical ability on your part pisses me off .

Clearly that's the case.

But rest assured you are not alone in your shenanigans because I have seen 50 more videos just like yours with guys shooting wildly at night in the direction of livestock, buildings, and unintended wildlife. Its all over YouTube.....

I've seen those videos too but never seen any other animals hit or wounded, just target hogs. That is why landowners only let those they trust hunt at night. I haven't heard of a large problem with non target species getting wounded. Night hunting is BIG in Texas for hogs so if it was a real problem I think we would hear about it.
That being said all should know their target and what's behind it. Kind of like shooting at skylined antelope or deer.

I don't have issues with these types of videos but we should keep these videos far away from the word "hunting" as we possibly can. The fact that they can be found on hunting channels isn't a good sign. You don't find Johnny shotgun yucking it up and filming his aerial gunning of coyotes on tv. Although I'm sure it's amazingly fun, I don't think this stuff should be on tv. Just more misinformation about the big bad hunter and his thermal rifle scopes that can be used.
