I love my cooper 25-06 for deer and pigs. I also have a remington with a shillen barrel in 280 Ackley Improved that I may be using a little more as well. The 25-06 shoots under dime at 100 yards with copper, which is useful here in the demokratik republik.

Ever since they came out there has been a 270 wsm in my hands loaded with 130 gr barnes tsx. Before that 257 Roberts, it worked so well, I don't know why i ever changed. This year a Browning Xbolt Hells Canyon in 6.5 Creedmoor with a Leupold VX-6 has made a big splash at my house and that is what I will be carrying this year.

If I was looking at a round that I only hunted deer and antelope with I would look very hard at a 25-06.

Thats a really nice and flat shooting caliber that is often overlooked and under produced by most manufacturers.

The same pre 64 model 70 in 270win I have been hunting the last 30 years with. It works on everything from elk to sheep to deer and lopes. I just wouldn't use it on the big bears, other than that , I use it for everything.

You must hunt out of state as there is no game in WY... or so I've read.

I recently purchased a 257 Weatherby and it has quickly become my favorite. So far it has killed everything it has shot at from 75 yards to 650 yards.Alot of pop with very little recoil.

I've been using a 7MM Rem mag with 140 GR Partitions but I might be switching to a .270 win with 140GR Hornady Interlocks. The .270 kicks less and I don't shoot over 350 yards anyway.

Browning 243 is all you need for pronghorns. It's fine for whitetails but a little light for big mule deer. 7mm magnum will take care of them and elk. I'm with Jack O'Conner a 270 is hard to beat if you only have one rifle. But what's the fun in that?
