Wyoming area 55 and Outfitters

I'm going to pull the plug and going to hunt antelope in Wyoming in the 2017 season. I have enough PP's that I can get a license in area 55. Anyone hunted that area and any guide info would be great. Looking for a upper 70's class goat.

That unit is really checkered with public land. I notice it is not listed as difficult access. It is my understanding you can not cross at connecting corners.

That is correct- corner jumping is still illegal. Doubt that will change anytime soon.

I hunted it two years ago for Does, you don't need a guide. I never saw another vehicle in the unit in 3 days.
If more people would call the respective county DA's there would be a lot less concern about corner crossing. I was in a unit three days ago and you could corner cross to your hearts content.

New information to me Bob? If I'm understanding you correctly each DA can choose weather or not to prosecute the violation?

I hunted 61 this year which is right across 80 from unit 55. A lot of lower 70s goats but didn't find anything that stood out. I only saw 2 other people out hunting the entire time and I would say you don't need a guide. Afraid I don't know much about the corner hopping. I'll be watching this thread for sure

Up to each County DA. Game dept leo's don't have a choice, they were directed to not cite a few years ago by the head of the agency and that directive has carried forward with the cucrrent director.
Understand that corner crossing is different than just walking off the county road onto private ground. I saw a cpl guys get tickets for that last week.
