Good Garmin deal?

So I went to Wyoming last year and my old Garmin etrex was unreliable. Recently sold it and have been looking for an upgrade for this year's trip. Found a Garmin Rino 655t for $300. Good deal? Any of you use this specific model?

Ha, the etrex just wouldn't grab satellites under a canopy. It worked just didn't trust it.

Watch Cabelas sale flyers, they tend to have a lot of Garmin sales. I bought an Oregon 655T for 325.00. That was several hundred dollars off list. Works great.

might want to check to see if you can get by with using your cell phone. lots of guys having good luck with the onXmaps.

No, you do not need cell service for the GPS function to work on your smart phone.

You can load up to 10 squares on the map in the app and it works off of satellite's as a GPS. No cell service needed
