I'm always amazed looking at the draw odds sheet after it is posted. 1 person used max points on a general tag, 2 with 9 points, 3 with 8 points, 9 with 7, 12 with 6, 22 with 5 etc... Tons of money just thrown down the drain. It looks like the special wasn't a guarantee this year with zero points- if I'm doing my math correctly.

I drew area 7 cow tag. Never hunted there but I'll give it a try and have fun in the process. Now I'll try for deer & antelope. I have 17 vacation days from LAST year to use up so it may be multi trips

I hear ya, someone put in for a 35 cow tag with 8 when 0 was almost a guaranteed tag

I would think those few people you see in that scenario every year, are most likely hunting Private property somewhere with good hunting and bulls, it just happens to only need a General. That would be my best guess at least

It might reflect some frustration in drawing certain areas and the guys have just given up. After 10 years area 124 is still stuck at 2.59%.

Mentioned to the wife, buddy and I will be leaving for WY 9/12. Glad she didn't ask when will you be back? Archery until 9/30, back to eastern WY for Lopes 10/1, then back west on 10/13 with rifle if needed. I'll call her a couple of times to tell her, I LOVE YOU!!!!!

Sounds like a blast! Bring the fishing poles along for when you tag out early.

Interesting numbers!!!!!!!!!!! Last year I hunted Wy. N.R. Area 104-6 where 80 tags were issued.....40 went to the "Left Overs", almost the exact sames numbers for N.R. Area 102-6, as well. This year Area 104-6 had 15 tags issued and Area 102 had 16 allocated. The residents are in for a surprise, also.

Burnt 5.5 with my partner on 11-9 elk. It actually took 6, but apparently we got it in the random with 1:18 odds. I'm pretty happy.
