There was a recent article in our local paper (Cortez Journal, September 11, 2017, "Are Wolves coming back to Colorado?") about a recent presentation by Michael Soule', "a renowned conservation biologist" to the San Juan Citizen's Alliance. He stated that he believes it is inevitable and it should be helped along with a ballot initiative requiring state wildlife officials to reintroduce wolves to Colorado. He also said the issues would lead to a "big fight" that would fragment the state. The Front Range with it's more "universal view" would easily pass the measure. The "Western Slope", however, takes a more local approach and know how it would effect the economy.
Looks like the fight to bring wolves back to Colorado is heating up. Unfortunately he is right about one thing.....The Front Range has a majority of the people and if a ballot initiative actually happen, IMHO it will tear the state apart.
Pretty sad deal for these so called conservation experts to be stirring up this crappola!!!
