A serious thought here after watching the news on several stations for the past few days. I man kills a lion. The full story is not even out and half the country is ready to hang this man yesterday along with a federal investigation looming. Yet on the other hand millions of abortions are done every year and there is the possibility that many of those parts from unborn children are being sold and hardly a word is uttered on most news outlets. Am I missing something here or am I on the right track to say that millions of people in this country are absolutely out of touch with reality??????
I couldn't agree more...smh.

its a sick sick world out there. fun fact, a large majority of our so called animal rights activists are more than willing to kill an unborned child and not even hesitate. but if they hear of someone killing an animal, all hell breaks loose, I think most of it is attention seeking, the rest is just Satan slithering his way in.....

I keep waiting for the story of what laws the guy violated. He had his permits, paid the licensed outfitter, shot the lion off the reservation....If the outfitter/guide violated some rules without the hunters knowledge, is he liable? In any case, our priorities are clearly screwed up to focus this much national attention when more important issues need to be covered; such as what is Caitlain (sp?) Jenner wearing today, and who's twerking who's boyfriend? If any game laws were broken, then the hunter should be charged accordingly. Mugabe's Zimbabwe is internationally known as a fair and just nation, so of course they will do the right thing.
Sorry if I confused any one by mixing my serious comments with my sarcastic ones...couldn't help it.

They keep saying that he lured it off the refuge, then the next station says the guides which I'm sure it was, nothing against guides, but I'm sure that's what happened.

this Zimbabwe guys are in total shock at how these "Americans" are reacting to this, what's the big deal they say, we do this all the time they say, every day they say. honest to god though... what is the big freaking deal? to take it to the point of threatening this guys life and telling him he isn't human. I'm with mnhoundman, I'm getting tired of this crap. I wish ole teddy bear Roosevelt was alive to see this......

Killing a lion has nothing to do with abortions
You are technically correct, but are missing the larger point. It is about the outrage about one lion vs the disgusting fetal organ harvesting, not just abortion. Clearly it is a for profit endeavor for some, which is illegal. I want a Lamborghini... More coverage on the lion in a day, on broadcast news, than PlannedParenthood's disturbing behavior over several weeks.

Seems to me if a fetus has developed enough to have organs, brain/lungs/liver etc., that can be harvested to use for scientific study, to help people outside the womb, it is a baby, not a mass of cells. I am a parent, I've held preemies, what PP is doing to almost fully formed babies simply makes me ill. The law says a woman has a right to choose, fine, but that choice needs to me made very early in my mind, if at all. Watch a modern ultrasound of an early second trimester baby...I have and could recognize a family resemblance. What is the current viable date outside the womb? 21 ish weeks? Not sure, but PP's late abortions are just too close to the viability date for me. Just seems the outrage should be about PP's Nazi like activities, not one Lion.

Abortion was upheld by the Supreme Court. You believe in one hand that protected rights are ok but with the other they are not because it's against your beliefs. You're no better than they are.

The fetus was aborted and dead. We have a long history of donating to science.

You misinterpret my disagreement, it is not a belief based issue to me. It was not a donation, it was a sale. Illegal as all heck if one cent was made by PP. I simply react to what PP did and their callous remarks as a human. Disgusts me. Disturbing to most. You are correct in that the fetus was dead. To say it was dead, infers it had life. Again, get much past 12-14 weeks, and I am against it. They are little people then.

I usually avoid these type of discussions because I am very indecisive and easily swayed, but there was a video about partial birth abortions going around and after seeing that, there is no way anyone should be silent about how wrong that is, Supreme Court or not. There is a long list of things people in our country did that were wrong that the Supreme Court said we had the right to do. Heart Mountain is a pretty good reminder of that in Wyoming. I am all for research and utilizing organs, but not at the cost of murder. I don't know where to draw the line, but those cases in particular are way over the line for me, and way too common. I had better quit before I start about police maybe needing a little help working in some of the most dangerous cities in the world. No excuse for some behaviors recently it seems like, but something has to be said about working long term in those kinds of environments.

For the first time I wish I hadnt opened this thread. They say its a choice. BS! Not everyone gets to choose. That was almost 10 years ago now and every once in a while I get through a day without thinking about it but they are few and far between. I understand what you guys are saying about all these people that care more about animals then humans. Im not sure what the world is coming to but it gets worse all the time.

Sorry for my dumb, I truly am new at how these things operate, so let me state before I'm torched, my reply above was intended to be to the Original Post Padding Thread post. I should've included that quote. No offense to anyone intended.

We will never resolve the abortion issue; and I would rather not divert too far in that direction of this forum. The point that was made though is relevant about how so much world attention is focused on an issue that in the whole scheme of things isn't more than a local issue for local law enforcement.
