nice fish indeed and welcome to the forum. what's with the guys and the ladders??
Pyramid lake is well known for fishing off ladders or ladder stands. The area around the nets is shallow quite aways out so fishermen will wade out as far as they can and then stand up on the ladder to get some height out of the water. In the old days we just wired a couple of milk crates together, they were metal back then, and tied a duck decoy to the crates so we could find them again after a break. In January you can only stand in that water for so long!!!!

Thank you all again! To answer questions, Coloradocowboy, they are lovely Goldens! Ivory tips, we fish on ladders at some of the beaches because some are long, sandy benches before reaching the drop offs where the fish cruise. Added bonus is not having to stand waist deep in frigid water all day, and if it's inclement with wind, you don't get beat up by the waves as badly. Sure, it's not uncommon to get swamped off your ladder, but it's not bad in three feet of water. ;)

Sorry...they are Piute Cutthroats. Caught them not too far from Mammoth in the Ansel Adams Wilderness.

Welcome NVFlyGirl, haven't fished Pyramid in years. Grew up in Central NV. ColoradoCowboy, I love that area around Reds Meadow, had a gf who's father was a packer out of there.
