Elk units 9 and 10 season change

Just on the G&F website and noticed that the opening date for elk unit 9 and 10 is changing from October 1st to October 15th and spikes are excluded now also.

That was my exact thought.
Only seems right to have the seasons be the same from the Snowys to the Sierra Madras.

I'm guessing that's the reason for the change, as well as saving wardens from having to patrol different seasons. After Oct 14, lots of guys just moved over the hill.

Wonder how many will not notice the date change and be hunting the 1st?

This will hopefully improve the bull to cow ratio as well. I do wish they would remove the any elk for a general tag in those areas.
