Many of the areas I hunted in MT had been logged years past but were closed to motorized vehicles so access was by foot, horse, or bike. 2k for a bike is waaaay cheaper than owning and caring for a horse. I would roll up a large canvas saddle bag and strap it to the top tube of the bike. Then the bike would become a game cart if I scored on a bull. The pants are just a pair of zip-off exofficio's that I spray painted with a tree branch stencil. Shorts are nice during the ride in and the material is quiet and dries quick and costs about $100.00 less than Sitka. Here in AK hunting off a bike isn't quite as easy as the trails tend to get quite overgrown by hunting season, not to mention pretty muddy.

Sent from headquarters.

Just picked up a bike this past weekend. I usually run, but thought this woud "mix" it up.
Now I have to try not to do something stupid.... Hey y'all, watch this! :)

Did my first ride on Monday night. Not too bad. 10 miles. Felt good, but I'm used to running this same course. 2 mean hills at mile 1.5 and 4 mile markers. Biggest thing was getting bike adjusted and getting used to riding after 25yrs. :)
Looking forward to some longer rides.

Nice ride at 10 miles keep it up.
I just bought a Garmin 510 to keep track of my rides and to train with a hart rate monitor trying to kick it up with killing my self

Being as I'm just getting started with biking, I've yet to hunt from one...but would be willing to try. Hunting is Hunting. :)
Just picked up an odomter/computer gadget to put on the bike that gives about 5-6 pieces of information about your ride. A buddy has one and it's very effecient and informative from what I've seen.

the tubeless tires are the way to go. still need to carry a spare tube, but flats don't happen anywhere near as much.
Fun weekend of riding, I want to curl up in my office and sleep.

yes, it is. 3300 vert a run is a good "workout". I just wish I was a better jumper, I love the black diamond runs, just not great at jumps.
