Not many mountain bike trails on the east side. Did a short 4 miler at a state park yesterday. It was just "ok".
I'm an extremist and love the trail systems out west! (jealous in Ohio)

i will admit i am pretty lucky. I got singletrack close to the house, big mountain forest service loops out the door, and a lift assisted bike park, 30 minutes away.
saturday was a 28 mile forest service road ride, with 4,000 feet of climbing, and sunday i got 50 miles and 24,000 vert of downhilling in.
The funny part about idaho, is no one knows about us, and we got the goods.

I am on a scott genius 720 right now. I ran a pugsley thru the winter and also use a cycle cross bike in the spring before the trails thaw out. a quiver in other words. My hunting bike has a set up for the trailer, to many bikes not enough time.

lol. Nice. That's how I am with bow equipment. I'd like to find a really nice MTBike, but wife+3kids you have to pick your battles - I hunt. :) Be cool to come ride those trails with you! Sound awesome.

I have a GT Avalanche hard tail that I really like. I mounted a rear rack and it works out great. Its not too heavy and the gear ratios are perfect for hunting and riding in the mountain trails. I bought mine used from a swat meet for about $200.00. I think new they run about $400-$500.00. The front shocks work great and so far have had no problems with it. I would like to get a small trailer for it in case I need to haul out a buck or two. So far just been using it for scouting and setting up trail cameras on rough 4x4 roads and trails.

Getting in some longer rides on hard trails and just recently some serious mountain trails. Having a lot of fun while getting in shape.
It's addictive. :)

Thx. Would love to hit a race! lol
Did 13.5 miles last night mixed with a lot of long hills. I'll hit the weights for a light workout this Thursday prior to hitting the road for a 2,000 mile drive to hunt next week! I'm stoked!!

sure was a fun season, got roughly 700 miles and over 100,000 vertical feet of climbing and descending in.
the fat bike will be pulled out once hunting season is over.

Extreme minnesotan or anyone else interested. I am in NE Minnesota and have a bike available that might work for some of you. I use it occasionally for grouse hunting, but it has mostly hung on the wall of my garage since I bought it in Seattle. It is a ZLC Super Gear, chromolly frame. They made custom bikes for the Seattle Police Dept. It is a full suspension bike, and was close to $800 in 1995. I keep in shape in other ways now. I am not actively marketing the bike, but see that it could be put to some use.
