My wife and 3 youngest kids and I are just completing our Lake Powell trip. Headed north from Vegas to Reno, the truck started showing signs of running poorly, it was surging occasionally. In Tonopah, I checked the transmission fluid, thinking something was slipping, but thing looked fine. It started really running rough around Fallon and we managed to baby it to our hotel in Reno at 1 am. I sent IKIC and DRHORSEPOWER messages last night at around 1 am.

When I woke up at 7:30 am IKIC had an appointment set up at a shop. DR also told me IKIC had something lined up for me. I took the truck in at 8:00 am and found one of the injectors was failing. It is now being repaired and they estimate it should be ready about noon. Thanks a bunch guys!!

The trip was awesome! A bit slower fishing than we thought…18 catfish at Snake River and 24 striped bass at Lake Powell, but overall a super trip. Three fishing days at Snake River, hiking through Bryce Canyon, 3 fishing/swimming days at Lake Powell, a stop at Mule Crazy headquarters to talk hunting with Ryan Hatch, two days of good food and sleeping in in Vegas. Ryan said that last year in the same timing they got 700+ stripers in a few days, but the bite has been very spotty this year. I think we did better that pretty much anyone we saw on stripers and catfish, so we feel blessed.

If all goes well on the repair, we have two days at Summer Lake Hot Springs and jackrabbit hunting in the evenings, my 50th birthday tomorrow with steaks, gravy and pancakes for breakfast and and a striped bass fish fry for dinner, then Sunday steaks at Cowboy Dinner Tree in Silver Lake Oregon on the drive home

Actually the price was super fair and they dropped what they were doing to make it happen. I had 3 old injectors on that side and I had them replace them all while they were in there. The truck is running great. They also found a piece of metal in one of the rear tires. It was looking a bit soft last night when we limped into Reno. I'm so glad they caught it. We were done and headed out of town at 2:00 pm. Pretty amazing!

We just arrived at the hot springs and set up camp. Crazy thing is they have WiFi.

Those guys kick butt for sure! Adam is a great family man and a good friend. He texted me last night to see if you where doing good on the drive home and if you made. That's pretty cool in my book. He knows a ton about diesel and automotive. If he can't fix it he knows someone that will. Customer Service around here can be schetchy at best but he and his crew are top notch.
