Youth Cow Tag - Unit 49 Muzzleloader

Excited to be bringing my 14 yr old to Colorado for his first western hunt! I have experienced two successful muzzle-loader hunts myself and it will be fun to get the next generation involved. He also loves to fish - so if anyone has tips on fishing around unit 49 I would love to get some idea if fishing is worth the efforts in late Sept in this area of Colorado.

I don't know that area but fall spawning trout are beautiful fish. I would find a spot at least close to your hunting area.
Looks like some high lakes and the river is right there, Arkansas River.
The browns and brookies will be very colorful and the hook jaw browns are a sight to see.

Something for planning is that the big burn is closed it will not open as some years tomorrow June 15 and is closed indefinitely.

Meaning it could very well be closed for all the hunting seasons again this year or they could open it. Right now after calling the usfs it is closed until further notice.
