Outdoor Channel huntress, Theresa Vail was cited here in Alaska for an illegal brown bear hunt last month.
The report said she shot two different brown bears and tried covering up the crime, with the help of her guides.

A news report can be seen on KTUU.com

Another black eye for hunters if she is found guilty!

What the hell were these people thinking? I guess she can kiss her BPS/Franchi deals goodbye. Honesty is the best policy. Had they been honest and reported it, she'd have paid a fine (most likely) and had the bears confiscated. Stupid move on the Guide's part too. I see him losing his license and as well he should.

I'm impressed her own TV crew turned them in.....good on them! I wonder how many of these other TV personalities have done this but haven't been caught.

Here I am busting my ass legally and ethically to get into the industry and you have people doing stupid crap like this! Unbelievable! It's crazy to see people that have so much have so little respect and dignity and just throw it all away.

Seems the old adage applies, it was not the crime as much as the cover up. If I follow the story correctly, appears her shooting of the second bear was most likely a mistake, not an attempt to get two. Honest mistake possibly, but still a terrible situation. They should have called law enforcement right at that point. The attempted cover up with the second tag is where she goes off the rails and moves out of the realm of an honest mistake with a price to pay into an integrity issue that is inexcusable and better have a severe penalty. Sad.

A blurb on the case was just played on national FOX news as a lead item on their Outnumbered show. Not the type of publicity we need.

Based on her track record I'll go out on a limb and say she subscribes to the theory of there being no such thing as bad publicity.

The whole thing became more about money than about the hunt. She needed to perform for the TV show and added to the excitement of the hunt, she made a poor choice. It's one thing to make a mistake, quite another to cover it up. I would like to know if she offered the guides money to help her cover it up. The only part that doesn't stink is that her camera crew had enough ethics to do the right thing. I never cared much for her show anyway. It just wasn't natural and she seems to be stuck on herself. Just an old mans thoughts......
