This is our second year in a row that we haven't been drawn for antelope. Looking at left over tags and see that Unit 22 by Kaycee has a bunch of them.

I have called many landowners in this unit and have struck out finding a place to hunt this fall on.

Looks like a high percentage of private land in this unit.

I have the sim card for my GPS unit but trying to locate some public land that someone else has hunted on in this unit before applying on July 06

Thanks

They used to keep a land owner list at Game and Fish office for that area. I know they have quit giving it out, but someone on here might still have the contact info from an older list.

There is some BLM land due west on the road out of Kaycee that runs under the interstate. I was out there once, no idea what goat area it is though.

might do just as well to scout out there a few days ahead of time,
locate some antelope
then knock on doors. I found that out in person last year.
Ranchers get wore out with phone calls,

but typically are good guys willing to help

We hunted 22 last year on left over doe tags. We had a blast and saw plenty of animals. All on public land, too. There are 2 main public land areas. One in the NEish and one in the SEish part of the unit. If you get off the roads, sometimes only 50 yds, you will find antelope. Sounds like you already have the GPS chip. I would also get a paper map for the unit and highlight the public land. THen highlight the roads you can drive on. That is the biggest trick for this unit. The roads make getting around a little different, but it can be done.

Good luck. This hunt was a blast.

I have hunted that area, but with an outfitter. Clearly has a ton of antelope, as you rightly have identified the challenge is to find public (or trespass) land. We did see a few parcels of public land in the northern part, they were pretty crowded but that was opening day.
