Wyoming unit 115

I hunted deer in that area quite a few times mostly in the SE part of the unit, seen some really nice antelope. Access in that part of the unit can be a problem. I never put in for a tag for 115 but a couple of my nephews did. They each shot 14" bucks with little effort as we were focused on deer hunting.

I have hunted 115 four times for antelope, once with a buck tag, and the rest with doe tags. General comments: have the WY chip or ONYX map to stay off private as it is checkerboarded. If you haven't experienced western gumbo mud, then you aren't prepared for it when it rains or snows. Even on the main road, if the weather changes, get he hell out. Antelope numbers have seemed to be on a steady decline each year I go out; point creep requires 5-6 pts. with little advantage for the special tag. A buck tag may well be easier to fill than a doe tag, as the dominant bucks gather their girls while the wantabes wander all over. The rabbit population has crashed, so don't expect much with a small game tag. Scads of mule deer on private, few on public ground. If you want more specifics, the ask on a PM.

I totally agree with the posts above, good area, should be able to find a decent buck in this area. Pay heed to RICMIC's warning on the roads though, and have tire chains. The area for antelope is not terribly hilly but the roads turn into snot when wet. I have hunted antelope there several times, once for my buck and once for doe. I have a doe tag again this year, so see you out there.
