Hi guys my daughter wants to kill a antelope next year looking for a place we can possibly hunt deer and antelope together? Not against paying a reasonable tresspass fee or Montana could be a option thanks Robert

Unfortunately most of the units don't overlap. Usually antelope shuts off just before deer opens. I havn't checked all of the state, but this is the case in the units I've hunted.

Do you guys have any points? It will be tough to do in WY with no points on public land. Even with points it would be difficult. There are areas you can get both with no points but they are mostly private land and your best bet would be to find private land to hunt. MT is pretty tough to get an antelope tag right now. They have had alot of tag cuts the last few years.

The NE part of the state around Newcastle has overlapping antelope and deer seasons. Antelope areas 6, 7, 8. Deer areas about the same. Not many trophy animals for either species. Not a whole lot of public but there are ranchers that will let you on for a trespass fee.

Here are the charts of season dates for antelope units https://gf.state.wy.us/web2011/imgs/QRDocs/WGFD14_ANTMAPCHART.pdf

And deer https://gf.state.wy.us/web2011/news-1000368.aspx

You can print out unit maps for each species to see which antelope unit #s and which deer unit #s cover the same area. Then you can check the MRS to see how many points you need for each. That's a lot of work for a seemingly simple question, I know.

Someday we may publsh a spreadsheet that shows between deer, elk and antelope what unit for each species overlaps or is the same as that for the other species. That would be a lot of work and we would only do it if there was a lot of interest.

Birdhunter hit the nail on the head... from Newcastle north to the MT border... several outfitters and ranches up there can get you both. PM me for details
Make that south of Newcastle, North of hwy 16, the deer does not open til Nov 1st. So you will have to go South of Newcastle id you want both deer and antelope. There are plenty of antelope on public land. There are mulies and whitetails on public as well but it does get pounded by hunters. If you can afford the trespass fees, I would go onto private land.

That would be great. Makes sense to try to hunt the same area all the time. If you can do so for multiple species, that is even a bigger advantage.
