Looking at Wyoming G&F webpage this morning.

Is the deadline for non resident antelope applications really May 31 this year?

I was thinking it was about March 15th when we applied in 2013.

As a Follow up, if I may....

Do the MRS gurus think the later Deadline will affect draw applicant numbers? Enough to affect preference point odds, or will it just bring in new zero point hunters?

Both for Deer and Antelope...

I agree a change for the better this gives a little more breathing room and a chance to plan things more. I think number of applicants will have to increase, I cannot see less people putting in because of the extended deadline just the opposite. Either way thumbs up to Wyoming Game and Fish for a good move!

Its a great change and I think you may see more people apply. My thought is by that date people know if they drew any other hunts and may go to this to apply where in the past the application period was already past.

It will certainly also work the opposite way as well; some applicants will bank antelope points knowing they already have a tag for another hunt. That is my exact plan should the elk tag draw prove successful.

Yes, that is correct, the new application deadline for WY NR deer and antelope is May 31st (June 1st this year) and the new time is now midnight on the deadline date MST instead of the old 5:00 PM deadline.

As for more applicants, not real sure on that but here is my take. I do think it might increase the amount of applicants slightly just because of the deadline being a bit later. I don't think it will have a real drastic effect, maybe 10% or sell. It seems like the guys who put in for Wyoming know about it and we might get a few new ones just because the deadline is later. The only wild card, is this gives outfitters more time to find clients and get them applied, and the fact that guys might have more cash in their pockets by then, as the refunds have mostly come back by then.

The good news, is now you will know what the quotas and season dates should be before you apply, if that makes a difference.

Good luck.

I think it will also depend on what guys draw before it. Some will sit out if they draw other tags before it.

Do we know when the draw results are expected to be posted and what will be the last day to modify apps yet?
