Well I drew the tag. Thanks in advance to those who helped in the research prior to applying.
I?ll be diving into the world of research, which sometimes is just as much fun as the hunt itself :), and then may reach out for any help available.
First scouting trip will be late July or early August, all Muleys should be pretty much what they are going to be by then.
Thanks in advance to all the Eastman?s MRS on this unit.... I think [emoji16]

Oh wow. That's a tough draw!! I don't know squat about the unit, other than I didnt see many deer in it when I antelope hunted the North half of the unit 6-7 years ago.
But, I know you'll do great in there!

Thanks. My initial plans are leading me to the southern part of the unit in the Rattlesnake Mts. But we shall see.

We saw some good bucks out there a few years ago while elk hunting. The biggest was a 200 class non typical. However we didn’t see any of the good ones until the snow started falling in November. I don’t know where they were in Oct, but I’m guessing on Spano’s place. A friend drew that tag this year and I’m looking forward to going out once or twice to see what we can find.

Wow. Good stuff. Thanks for the insight. I understand sharing will be limited if you have a buddy with the tag but if you?re into any updates I?d be game :) even if it?s as basic as ?horn growth? etc.
thanks again.

89 has walk in areas but unfortunately most of them aren't open for deer. That may limit you somewhat since there are some fairly large chunks of private land. I would definitely have a gps and OnXmaps and keep track of where you are. You'll likely need to cover quite a bit of country to find larger bucks on public land. I would expect more hunting pressure on weekends due to the close proximity to Casper. The roads can get gumbo-mud when wet so possibly bring chains and a shovel.
