I would like to encourage everyone coming out to Wyoming this fall for hunting to go see our National Parks while you are here. 100th anniversary of the park system and not a better time to see Yellowstone, stay on the boardwalks, Grand Teton, Devil's Tower and even Mt Rushmore. The elk will be bugling in the parks in September and it can be magic to hear and see.

We plan on doing that! We will be hunting near Thermopolis, and plan on driving home through Yellowstone. So I think we'll be going in the east entrance near Cody. Can you recommend the route we should take from there or anything we shouldn't miss?

I really like the Lamar valley. I could spend the whole trip there and not complain. I think specimen ridge and the petrified forest is right close there. The park is set up pretty nice so the main attractions are in two big loops. A day per loop is probably as fast as I would want to try that. Then Grand Teton I like the old barn where they take all the pictures. I think it's on the road to Kelly. And that spot where my. Moran is reflected in the big oxbow. Not 100% On the facts I guess. Hopefully I am not getting things all mixed up. That same road is where I have tended to see the moose in the park. I guess that is what we have done to add onto wy-Tex there.

Headed to Tetons and Yellowstone the end of June for family vacation. Any poi or activities you can advise? How's the fishing in that area?

We saw some great country on my first Wy hunt last year. It had to be a quick trip for me but next time I sure would like to spend some more time in the state and see the sights.

The Bighorns are nice, I've enjoyed the Snowy Range west of Laramie and there are more mountains west of there, but the real jewel is the NW corner that includes the Tetons, Jackson and Yellowstone. Man, there is some awesome country there!

Black Hills are also interesting in the NE corner. There's a lot of high desert between all those that is not that interesting other than the deer and antelope. Cody and Laramie are the towns I would give strongest consideration to if I were to live there and I'd probably end up in Laramie.

Try to make the loop through the whole park, Yellowstone. A short drive south takes you into Grand Teton, same entry fee for both parks I believe and then Jackson. West Yellowstone is also a very interesting town to stop in. Cody is a great western town also to stay in or just visit for a day, gunfights at the Irma hotel during the summer months, east entrance to Yellowstone. The southern route out of Jackson takes you through Afton and down to I 80. September will be a great time to see Wyoming. The leaves are changing and the elk will be bugling. Take some scenic drives over the Snowy Range scenic byway, SE Wyoming, The Beartooth Highway is also very scenic. Take every route over a mountain pass and you will see some amazing places.
