Anyone familiar with elk unit #67 just north of Dubois? I hunted there about 10 years ago with an outfitter in the wilderness area. Want to do DIY this time, but of course can't go into the wilderness as a nonresident. Are there good elk numbers outside of the wilderness areas? This would basically be between Dubois and the wilderness. How about wolves? And finally how many points are generally needed to draw a nonresident elk tag there? Forgot to mention this would be a Sept. bowhunt.

gman1, Were you in the wilderness area? Also were you in the DuNoir Creek area or the Horse Creek area? Thanks

Schlaggerman. I have hunted it quite a bit. Killed my first elk with a bow and rifle there. Pm me with some questions and I will gladly help.

We hunted in wilderness area out of the East Fork. All four of us got nice elk but like I said , the bears were there also. We rode out on horseback to above timberline and found most of the elk up there.

Drelk, Sent you a PM. Let me know if you don't get it. I'm new at this computer stuff and what I think I've accomplished doesn't always happen. Schlaggerman
