Wyoming elk 2018

Planning on going to Wyoming elk hunting with my dad next year but not sure what unit to go for. He?s 62, he?s in decent shape. We want to get an elk but really just want to have a good experience as it?ll be our first trip out west hunting. Any advice on units or anything would be greatly appreciated! Not looking for exact basins or trail heads just a general area would be nice. Do you have any elk preference points in Wyoming? That makes a huge difference as to where you will really have an opportunity to draw a tag.

If you don't have any points consider applying for general and hunt the Gros Venture. Lots of elk but lots of wilderness. If you're not afraid to work for it, you will have a good hunt.
