Wyoming Deer hunt

I need a little advise. Me and my brother have 6 PP's and are finally looking into cashing them in on a limited quota unit. I have hunted twice in Wyoming antelope but never deer. I done some research and i know i have alot more to do.. any suggestion on which unit and why?? I was looking into 87,89
any suggestion would be appropriated

Welcome to the forum klawdogg. Lots of people on here that could help you, but I haven't hunted WY, so I'm no help. I'd subscribe to the eastman magazines first. That will get you access to the MRS section which gives a ton of information for each unit and different states.

I don't think you will draw either tag with 6 points. 8 points is max this year (2014 draw). Last year max points (7) on 87 was only 28.57% odds of drawing. One less than max (6) was 75% odds of drawing on 89. However they are both good choices.

I'd save my shekles and book a guided hunt in G before I'd consider 87 or 89. Both area's are hurting and neither is worth 6 - 8 points.

Are they hurting due to the drought?
