Hey folks. I only seeking information on the antelope numbers in area 7. I have hunted that area several times and we have had good success. My wife and I are both in our early 60's and we have not hunted Wyoming in three years due to work requirements and tougher draw odds. We are going to purchase preference points anticipating a return to the New Castle area next fall. Someone please chime in and let me know how the numbers look and quality of animals seen. Thanks.

Hi,
I am a little slow, sorry. I wasn't hunting antelope, but they were over every hill I crossed over. I am not sure how they compare to previous years, but I saw quite a few on the walk-in areas I was wandering about in. They rut was ending I think, and they were starting to get in the big huge groups when I was out there last. I wasn't looking very close to the quality of bucks, and I am not a good judge, but quite a few double the ears, so 12, 13" for a guess. I didn't see anything that made me go "holy smokes that thing is huge", but I wasn't really looking for antelope either. It was super dry most of this year, I am not sure how that will affect things for next year. Hopefully there is enough grass for the winter and whatnot. Good luck.

Thank you for the reply. Was you hunting deer? We normally see several shooter bucks while antelope hunting.

yeah I was. That pretty much my luck, lol see deer when elk or antelope hunting, antelope when deer hunting.
