Hi Guys.
My wife and myself got drawn on unit 83 for antelope this year.
We should be around at the end of this month to spend a week and find lopes.
We got 2buck tags and 2 does with 1/2 mile of irrigated land (type 6).
We will be camping on a campground in Thermopolis and visit the beautiful area at the same time.
Any advise or tips would very appreciated as we didn't get lucky last year in a unit north of Gillette.
We'll be looking for land owner permission as well for a good butcher in the area.
Just got my topo map of the area but couldn't get the GPS chip map as we live out of country. We will try to buy it on our way there in a hunting store or in Cody.
Thanks in advance and you guys have a good hunting season coming.

Eric, I'm a bit confused. You drew a private land tag but don't have any private land permission yet?

Hi m.mcolorado. We drew regular tags (type 1) as well type 6 (within 1/2 mile of irrigated land).
We plan to hunt on public and private land.
Thanks.
Eric.

Please do, I am putting my grandfather in for that area next year. Surely with his points and the special app he will draw it ( same thing I thought this year too!)

Please correct me if I'm wrong but isn't a type 6 tag just a plain old doe permit? Type 7 would be something different...

Should be plenty of public land to hunt, especially compared to the area North of Gillette. I think finding a landowner to let you hunt does would be easy, just stop and ask or call the local warden and/or biologist.

You need to stop by the Hot Springs State Park in Thermopolis while you are there, excellent shower and hot spring soak to be had. For free too!

Good luck!
