Hello Forum-
Quick update on our antelope hunt this year in unit 113. I asked several forum members for advice on this area and got great responses as usual and I wanted to thank all of you (you know who you are). We hunted unit 113 in mid October and the advice/warnings about tough public access were correct. The GPS and onX maps were indispensable to thread the needle finding public land. But there wasn't too much to be had. There is a large piece of BLM that is accessible by a good hike, but otherwise public land is limited. This was also the first time antelope hunting in Wyoming that I ran into other hunters. However, the guys we talked to were very helpful and willing to share information. We filled our tags, but not without some difficulty. I settled on a mature buck with decent mass, not a lot of length and with the prongs sheered off during the rut. 3 out of 4 antelope we tagged had damaged or missing prongs. Overall, it was great to be in Wyoming again and we filled our freezers, so absolutely no complaints. Hope everyone is having or had a great season.IMG_20181021_125945505.jpg

good job! very cool to see somebody close the loop and tell how their hunt with and thank the forum. I filled a doe tag on public in 113 but I won't be going back there were way too many people in too small of an area for my style of hunting. Again good job on your pronghorn!

I was NE of you guys a few units up and over in another legendary antelope unit. [emoji38]

CB is right; its great to hear how others fared taking these leaps of faith and challenging themselves to take the plunge hunting in new areas far outside their comfort zones.

I got my doe, but it was a roller coaster hunt. 3 days str8, I walked nearly 13 miles/day in some pretty interesting, yet rugged terrain.

Access was challenging; but persistence paid off. I too owe much to many on this forum. I will be posting my hunt details later on towards winter; like a hunt diary to share my perspective as a 1st time DIY antelope hunter.
