So, I know winter is still on, and we have a lot of time left for winterkill issues to reach their conclusion. Spring storms can be brutal in the mountains.

That being said, will the Commission release 2018 quotas ahead of the nonres tag application deadlines?

A warden I spoke to over the phone for one area was of the mind that some quotas might be increased by those in charge, due to a series of mild winters in certain areas with healthy deer populations (these were not the western WY areas that got hit real hard last yr).

Regards,

You may find the population estimates in the job completion reports in April. The biologists will have done winter counts and release the numbers on total population and buck/doe ratios along with fawn recruitment.
Winter so far is ok, finally getting good snowpack for spring runoff.
No die offs yet but late spring can be brutal.
