Made the drive from Laramie to Casper this am. No shortage of healthy looking animals all over. Tried to get pics but they are already smart to a slowing down truck.

Bring your warm clothes, upper 20's tonight for a low and nice cool fall weather all this week. Rain made for wet sloppy roads this past weekend.

Drove Casper to Laramie this am. Beautiful day out. Lots of goat herded up protecting their women . Those that weren't protecting looked like a cutting horse exposition going on.Every animal I stopped and glassed looked very healthy. Good luck to all.

Hey winchester it's game day in Laramie on Saturday. Get your stuff done in town early to avoid the zoo.
Also watch out for the man, he'll be patrolling the highways pretty close between Cheyenne and Laramie and Casper and Laramie, not to mention state line to Laramie as always.

Slugz how did the Shirley Basin look? It was pretty dry during the eclipse but some recent rains may have helped.

WyTex, The drive took me 4 hours due to me stopping and glassing and watching the whole trip. I really have no reference to compare. It all looked good to be and the animals looked better!

Ok Thanks!! I didn't know that and would have passed through Laramie during the traffic. I'll plan around it. Appreciate the heads up!

Just concluded AZ deer & elk hunts, will fish a few days while waiting for processing, then head to the Rawlins area for a lope hunt. Switching from bow to rifle will be odd. I'll have to sight in while there. Trying to think of the last time I used my rifle, maybe 2013 WY lope?

Fall is here for a bit, maybe to stay. We have had some rain and some more to come early next week. Breezy though so roads should get better. You'll know within a few yards if you need to back out and stay on the county roads. End of next week should make roads better with the wind, looks like 10-20+ mph all week and cold at night.

Snow, it's here in Laramie area and roads are getting iffy. Going to be tough sledding for the next few days with wet, sloppy roads. Nice cold nights coming too.
I-80 will get interesting today if the snow stays steady, travel safe.
Looks like SE and central Wyoming are getting most of the moisture, via snow and rain.
