we are going DYI...proly public land...we will pay for a ranch to hunt if its worth the money...start out with gun and then go back with guns if we dont do any good with the bows....
U mean start out with bows, what part of area 7 were u considering? I live in unit 7 so I could help out with any questions

I drew unit 38 as well, looks like I should draw my antelope unit as well (last year it would have been a 100% draw) so looks like I'll be living in the 5th wheel in Wyoming from Sept 15 through the first week of November. Can't wait til fall
Hey old no. 7, congrats on the tag! keep me posted this fall I'll give you a hand if you need it in 38. I read one of your post about a health issue. To bad it's.... no more old no.7.... because I might just have a jug of that with me..lol.. good luck.

I drew a general tag as my second choice. Now I have to figure out where to hunt. I thought we had the points to get the tag we wanted

I drew 63-1. Pretty excited about it. don't know a lot about it, going to have to start my homework. any leads or starting points would be much appreciated

I also drew unit 7 with my dad, hunted it in 05 but didn't get anything. We hunted on a private ranch and regret it due to the fact they wouldn't let us hunt without their so called guides who didn't really know how to elk hunt. So this year it will be DIY, so if there is anyone willing to share any pointers that would be great. Don't expect honey holes just general info on where to start researching would be great. Thanks

You lucky fellows who drew 38, how many points did you have? Was it your first choice? It was my second choice and I had 6 points. Now I have 7. With 6 points I shot for a type 1 license in unit 32 figuring maybe getting my second, third choice. Maybe my strategy is wrong, or just bad luck. Congrats on your draw, knock em dead!
