I was lucky enough to draw a unit 62 tag this year. If any of you have hunted it and are willing to share any info that would be great. I plan to camp so a suggestion of where a decent camping area is close to good habitat. Also curious if anyone has hunted the walk in area "Ferris Mountain Ranch Inc"? Thanks in advance.

Where did you see Ferris Mountain Ranch walkin?
The whole northern part of the area is BLM so why need a walkin?
Camping up near the mountains will have more terrain and maybe some trees. Antelope should be all over.

I found the walk in area both on WY fish and game web site as well as OnXMaps. There is water and green pastures on the private thus making it a haven for antelope.

Sorry that is Carbon Co 10 walkin, I didn't see the Ferris mountain name.
Does look interesting. If those are native hay meadows by late Sept and Oct after being cut they will not have a lot of green left unless irrigated.
I would definitely look into it. They can really hide in the taller sage, makes for great stalking cover. Get a high spot and look it over.
Bet you'll see some deer.

wy-tex I appreciate the info. I am going to check it out for sure. We do hope to see some deer as well. Put it on the radar for future use of my deer points.

That's for sure fackelberry. I doubt my max points would even be enough at the moment. Hope my 8 Antelope points will payoff on this unit though.

You should do fine, just make sure you try to look at ALOT of antelope. And don't be discouraged if you see more hunters. I always try to outsmart the hunters to get to a good buck before they do. The antelope is the easier one.

If you have max deer points, you always have a fighting chance. One point less and it's a different story. Like they say, can't draw one if you don't apply! Good luck this year, you will have fun.

Thanks for the help and info. Found this 15" buck on the afternoon of opening day. He fit the bill for me. Seen lots of antelope in the couple days I was there. Fun hunt.Antelope side view.jpg

Hey thanks fackelberry. It was definitely one of my favorite hunts ever. Glad I was able to look at a bunch of bucks the day before the opener. Lot's to choose from out there.
