Not looking for gps coordinates, but having a tough time deciding on where to go Deer hunting this fall within these 2 units.
I've narrowed down to these for various reasons (statistically - harvest, public etc), but am having a tough time on an exact location. I've looked over maps so much my brain is starting to hurt. It appears that there are many more trail heads in the lower half of 151 than 153.
From what I gather, the deer numbers are higher in 153 along with a lower grizzly/wolf population.
151 is used by a lot of outfitters, so this may be a problem as well.

We are in excellant shape and willing & looking forward to hiking several miles to camp. Hoping to see deer quantity more so than a B&C.

I'm feeling pressure due to the season opener being only a month away. First true DIY experience after a short trial run 2 years ago.

Any useful insight on these areas will be much appreciated. PM's welcome as I understand not wanting to post on an open public forum.

Thank you.

I wish I could help you, and I feel your pain. I've mapped myself to death here as well. I assume you're talking about deer in region H as I've seen you post about going to region H previously. Good luck and let us know how you guys do!!!

I'm going to assume you are limited to non wilderness since you are a non resident. Truth be told if you find a spot on the map where you can glass a lot of country, let the deer tell you where you want to be. If you are in a high traffic hunter area, keep an eye out for deer crossing over saddles at first light. Look for basins just over the ridge not visible from trails on the map. Find a long ridge to hike and glass finger ridges coming off.

Pretty much just find a place to hunt where there is enough country to hunt and "rule out" likely areas until you find the deer. Then you can start "hunting"
