Im from Indiana and I'm really wanting to fulfill my dream of hunting the west and want to get my feet wet by going after doe antelope this Oct. Can anybody give me any insight on any of these units with leftover tags? Thanks so much in advance! The units I'm looking at with available tags are... 53, 76, 79, 82, 83, 93

I wouldn't have picked any of those for a first timer. Do you understand the restrictions that are in place for those hunts?
Not necessarily. That's the reason why I am asking. Do you mind explaining? The reason why I was asking about those particular units was because they were areas listed to not having difficult public access and still had leftover tags.

This screenshot is from the April Regs for antelope-zoomed to the 76 type 6 tag (as an example from your list). Seems pretty direct to me the restriction that is in place on that tag. Irrigated land = usually private farmland = permission to access. You would need to determine if you can get on land within that specific boundary for your hunt. 😉

Usually ranchers will allow hunting later on the irrigated lands as the antelope move in from other places, but make some phone calls. Waiting til later in the season may help find access. They do not want a bunch of BS in their meadows though, show respect for the land.

Unit 79 has the best options, should be able to fill a couple tags in a few days. A lot more area to hunt there than it looks, a lot of public land butts up to irrigation, and some irrigated land is enrolled in the WIA. Also call the local warden, they'll have a few landowners that will welcome doe only hunters. Be best to go a little later in the season also.
