I have hunted antelope in Nebraska the last 7 years with my bow, and am now looking at heading further west. Looking at a wyoming antelope hunt next Fall. I have one p.p. and it looks like I could do a unit one hunt. I noticed there is a * which means access is difficult. I will be hiking in from the road once it turns to public land I can access. I was wondering if anyone had knowledge of the access situation up there. Looks like some good chunks of public and from the interactive map it looks like there is a couple of main roads that go through it, but I don't know if they are maintained be the county or not. Just trying to get my ducks in a row before I decide where to go. So if anyone could let me about the access situation that would be great. Thanks!!

Haven't hunted unit one but a couple of the nearby units. The asterisk is there for a reason and typically indicates very little or difficult to access land. Still doable but you have to have a plan and then a plan B. Wish I could help with more specifics from that particular unit, I am sure someone will.

Looking at 31 it looks like there is a good amount of public access roads. I would have to check that out before I head out. If I have one preference point and apply this year, do I get the preference point for 2017 (meaning 2 pp) before or after the draw. (if that makes sense)

After the draw if unsuccessful. If you draw your 1st choice, you use your 1 point and get no point for 2017. You'll get that point fee refunded if you included it in your application.

Go direct to the county website. That's where I have found my maps that show what roads are county. Some counties are nice enough to have the public land displayed on their maps as well.
