WY A, B, or C?

Well I've learned more reading on here in the last few weeks than I have anywhere else in the last 3 months. I've narrowed down our mule deer hunt to regions a, b, and c. I've decided on these due to the close proximity of where we will be antelope hunting, and these areas have a season that comes in earlier. Any suggestions on these 3 as far as access and deer numbers? From looking at maps, I'm leaning towards region C.

Here is what I have seen from antelope hunting a few times in those regions.
Region A has a ton of mule deer and whitetails. Probably saw a mix of 50/50 while grouse hunting in antelope unit 1. Would not surprise me at all that if we saw 200-300 deer a day there. Of all those deer I probably saw only 1 buck worth shooting and he was 140-150" on private ground. I didn't even see very many younger bucks maybe half dozen at best, just tons of does. Ive heard that area gets a lot of pressure deer season. We were there beginning of October and I know season does not start till late October or early November. That being said do the bucks come out of the hills during the rut? I don't know but it not being a trophy area and the pressure I heard about I think a decent buck would be hard to come by.

Region B I'm a bit more familiar with. Season starts Oct 1 with antelope season and Ive run into plenty of deer hunters there. I have seen a couple decent bucks get shot in the 150" range. Whenever I have been out scouting or hunting I see few deer. During a day Ill see maybe 10-15 deer. I never really seem to see any good bucks but I know I'm not really hunting for them. Last year was the first year I saw a nicer buck. He was bedded on public land and was maybe a 140" deer. From what I understand, find the creek drainages with trees and you will find the deer. One year a buddy had bought a deer tag and shot a 130" buck. He is going back this year again to antelope and deer hunt if he draws a tag. I personally know a local from New Castle and he is disgusted with the deer numbers in the area. He said a bad winter kill in 2010 is to blame then he believes they have a lion problem, so numbers are not up greatly.

Cant really help you with region C but hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. That's what I keep hearing about B. Low deer numbers paired with limited access has me pretty leery. A seems decent but from what I've heard your more likely to see whitetails than mulies. Not that I would be opposed to a big whitetail, but I figure I'll only have a few chances in my life to kill a mulie, and I've killed tons of whitetails.

Im not terribly concerned about trophies. For my first trip any mulie and meat to take home is a trophy.

Looking back at my notes, I was mistaken about the earlier season dates for region A. That will probably rule that out.

I agree on b also. They changed 10 to limited quota after a few years of a short season because mule deer were hurting. If you can get on a ranch that might be really good though. I would like to hear about those walkin areas around lusk and south of Newcastle since you kindof brought it up lol. C can take some research to find good access but it's doable I think. Don't rule out sagebrush hillsides. Those sneaky Muley boogers can hide in plain sight. I might need to get a Muley book. They are fun but sometimes they baffle me.
