Guys and gals, I need some advise. I have been successful in introducing my wife to shooting. We just completed her forth trip to the range and she is pretty good. With her birthday coming up, I'm thinking of buying her her first pistol.

She with use it mainly at the range and accuracy will be important in addition to a smaller frame (Very small hands). Probably want to go with a 9mm. CCW isn't a concern. I've got a few ideas but I'd like to hear a few suggestions first...

I feel like the Lady Smith's are hard to beat. Safe, reliable, and made for smaller hands. And you get the ease of use of a revolver.

Just an observation while shooting with the ladies in the family.

Wife got her first gun about two years ago. BerettaPx4 storm in 9mm.
She has small hands and opted for a larger gun because the smaller compacts jumped around a lot when fired.
She tried several guns and it just had a good feel for her.

My daughter and I took it out and put about 50 rounds through it while shooting several other hand guns.
After about two magazines my kid picked up my Beretta 8040F cougar in .40.
She preferred the larger gun and we started to zero in on what she liked.

My point is that you really are not going to know until she handles several guns and actually feels the gun firing.
Might be that a little heavier gun works better.
