Wolf in Nevada?

I watched a hunting show where they were elk hunting near the Jarbidge wilderness and the showed what they said was a wolf track in the snow.
Any of you guys who hunted there recently see anything that might show evidence of a wolf there?

I know there are wolves in 051. I wouldn't doubt it at all if they where there too.

There are no wolves in Nevada. Those are coyotes

We had a NE OR collared wolf go all the way to CA. So with those critters, NV is certaintly in range.

Mexican wolves aren't they?

No. The Mexican wolves are the ones they released in New Mexico. They are a much smaller wolf. We had Canadian wolves introduced in ID, WY, MT and they are now expanding into other states. In NV they are classified as the Canadian Coyote which is killable year round with no restrictions

Yes one did. They are very capable long distance travelers.

Yeah. It had a collar and was supposedly shot on Beaver Mountain in Utah, by a hunter who mistook it for a coyote.

It was in the local news recently, but I haven't seen any follow up story
