Thought I'd take some time this winter to work up some hand loads for my Browning LRH 7mm mag 26" barrel (1:9.5" twist). Looking at the 168gr pills. BC is .652
Any one tried the new Nosler ABLR bullets? The BC is incredible on these things, so I thought I'd start there.
Looking for powders used and muzzle velocities. Appears many folks are achieving 2950-3100 velocities.

Thanks guys!

I tried some .284 150 gr. ABLR's. Would not shoot in my 280 with a 1 in 9 barrel. Wish they would have. Suspect it was nothing but a gun that does not like them. Ended up using a Barnes 145 LRX, and they have performed very well. You are probably using heavier pills for your mag to get the BC that goes with, buts that where I ended up. Nosler is notorious for overly optimistic BC's, so I am told, trust but verify on paper is my SOP.

I'm having good luck with 168gr NABLR over H1000 in the mid 2900's FPS. Sub-MOA at the range and passed through a cow elk at 350yd without leaving a bunch of scrap metal as far as I could tell.

The rifle is a Sako A7 Big Game which has a 1:9.5" twist.

Bruin, did you work up load with more powder? Any pressure signs? What is your seating depth?
I see a lot of information on the web, but many are using 28" custom barrels with faster twists...

Tim, good info there and good advice. I want to move away from the 162 SST I'm using. I'm getting sub moa at 3,025 factory load. Hoping to anchor an elk this fall-my first!
