Hey everyone. Looking for info on how the winters been going in central/southcentral Wyoming. I have four pts. going into this year and looking for as much info. before putting in for the draw. I was reading MRS section on Wyoming and it says you have to have a professional guide or a resident guide to hunt wilderness areas. Is 'resident guide' a Wyoming resident or go I have to hire a guide to hunt wilderness?

robak the law can be confusing. To get the whole deal I would call the Wyoming game & fish office. But in Wyoming wilderness you need a guide who is has to be working for a registered outfitters with the Wyoming Game & Fish. When it comes to residents you can hunt with one in the wilderness but he I think has to sign you in at the district game & fish office. And of course monetary or gift compensation can't exchange hands. And I think he can't be outfitting the hunt totally. But for the right information get a hold of any game warden and have him run down all the rules. To be honest some of the wilderness up here are full of hunger and aggressive Humpies and the outfitters in those unit know how to live with them. Good Luck this fall Mike

Mike is right as to the Guide aspect. As for the winter kill,i have not heard but we have got a ton of snow this winter in south central Woming. The north platte river drainage is above 150% of normal. Love to see all the snow come back. Now if we could just get rid of the beetles.
