Well ladies and gents,

I recognize in full discretion that this is not the most appropriate place for this post, but please indulge me. I am working towards becoming a Wildlife Professional because my dad IS a Wildlife Professional! He received the 2016 award on Tuesday night (3/1/2016) at the South Dakota Chapter of The Wildlife Society banquet as voted on by a panel of his peers for 35 years and counting of devotion to wildlife conservation and research in SD. I have held both South Dakota State and now Federal conservation positions, and had the distinct honor of presenting this award to him on the 50th anniversary of this great organization. I have photos (i'll try to post one if I can figure out how), but pictures cannot describe how proud I am. I learned everything I know from this man, and I feel like the wildlife of western SD are the direct beneficiaries of that knowledge. I will continue to try and be champion of those resources, whether or not I myself ever receive an award, but my dad is one individual who should be celebrated!

Thanks to the man who taught me everything I know!

Cheers,

Plainsman

Congratulations. What better spot to talk about lifetime achievements for outdoor activities then here with a group of hunters.
