He got off way too light. They should have taken away his hunting privileges for life. Unethical piece of crap. I will not be buying anything from Wildgame Innovations or any other companies owned by or connected to him. Nor will I watch any other shows or hunters sponsored by them. The Outdoor Channel came out with a statement that they "suspended" him and the show but that does not go far enough. Grow a pair and definitively can his ass Outdoor Channel! This guy should have no connection at all to the hunting industry.

Supposedly he's worth over 100 million, so that pittance of a fine and just 2 years loss of license was nothing to him. These judges have to start getting serious about these guys who can buy their way out of anything. A slap on the wrist like he got does nothing. I sent e-mails to all his shows sponsors detesting this wildlife thief. He makes all hunters look bad.

From what I've read he predominantly hunts high fence. Guessing the loss of hunt privileges will have little effect on him.

Remember when I posted the article about New Mexico now has a law that poaching is a felony. Lots of comments about too harsh a penalty...well sure wish this had happened in New Mexico. His gun toten days would be over along with everything else.

He will just go hunt Africa, New Zealand, and Europe for the next few years. Only watched about about 5 minutes of his show and he rubbed me wrong. Glad he got caught.

The desire to be famous or on TV sure turns a lot of hunters into unethical morons. It's sad.
The problem with these hunting shows is the fact that participants become 'killers' for the sake of ratings and to ensure good entertainment, instead of being a hunter who is there to hunt and enjoy all that nature has to offer.

Yep, we should all be very particular in the hunting shows we watch, As soon as they start to struggle to get enough footage to fill that time slot, they start to compromise. As far as him going to another country, I say fine. Let them deal with him. I would like to see an agreement with them, like we have between states, prohibiting convicted wildlife violators from hunting there also. unfortunately it's all money driven and he has money.

After doing a bit of research on the guy it seems that he rubs people the wrong way even in his home state. He and his kids are rich bullies. He buys a big ranch in Wyoming and feels that he owns the wildlife there...just as he does in his home state of La.

I do remember, and you're 100% correct.

This is why I don't watch hunting shows any more.

I'm more of a you-tube watcher these days. And there are plenty of idiots on there as well. At least I don't have to pay to watch it.

Kudos to the game warden for busting a poacher. The only thing unusual about this story is that the poacher is a hunting industry celebrity. Plano Synergy group will take a financial and PR hit. Watch for show sponsors and retailers to cut ties if the heat gets turned up too much. Some will closely follow this and hope the storm blows over. Others will pull the plug right away. Outdoor Channel was the first to cut ties. Outdoor Edge knife company is the second domino to tip. They announced yesterday that all sponsor ties to Busbice are cancelled. If it begins to blow back on retailers, then they will drop Plano Synergy products like a hot match. Conservation groups will also distance themselves from Busbice and his company's products.
