Why won't Colorado accept CC from nonresidents for moose, sheep, goat????

That sucks! I have never put in for those species, but now I really won't. Exactly what they want I guess.

I bet you can use a credit card to by marijuana! I have never understood the credit card mess. I think it might be the fees that the credit card companies charge?

For NR I assume it's so that they don't have to pay credit card fees like BKC said. 2-3% fees adds up awfully fast on $2,000 apps. Now if you're talking just for residents, I don't know.

I like the process for NRs and hope they don't change it.

Residents can use a credit card. I'm really surprised they don't extend that to NR's too. Seems to me they would want all the money they can get! If I was a NR I wouldn't want them to change it either... makes it easier for guys to apply when they don't have to front the actual cash.

ya it's nice if you have $7k cash per state to front...

sometimes I wonder when they say hunting is a rich man's sport...

They only except paper applications for sheep, goat and moose from NR, so no credit cards accepted. It HAS to do with somehow, someway keeping more of your money. The bottom line with them is always about money.

How does not accepting non resi CC's improve resident draw odds? They specify non resi quota's in most areas.

If up fronting the cash is improving my odds by scaring away a few other non resi's, I'm all for it. I'd like to draw another mtn goat tag one of these days...

I believe they don't accept NR credit cards because of the fee's they get charged by the credit card companies. When an applicant is unsuccessful they refund the money but then they are out the credit card fee.

I believe credit card fees are usually 2-3% so even if it was 2%, it would cost them about $40 in CC fees for each of the big 3 apps.

I know in the past, MT charged an extra fee for the big 3 if you applied online which I think was 3% to cover the credit card fees. If you applied with the paper app though then you didn't have to pay that fee.

any other states do this? ive never really thought about it but if co is like idaho and you pay upfront and dont draw then yo get your money back....... could turn in to a pain with the cc, with the fees and what not but as was said, add an convenince fee for using a cc, most places do that allready anyway. i personaly dont use a cc, if i dont have cash to pay for something i have no business doing it.
